From the recording The Island - Part One
“Seven In The Morning” was released as a single in April 2023, and it felt right to place it at the very start of The Island – Part One. It’s built around a simple idea: that love can outlive presence, and that routines can become a way of keeping someone close.
In the song, seven in the morning is a promise I keep—even when it makes no sense on paper. It’s grief, yes, but it’s also a stubborn kind of hope: the feeling that someone can still meet you in the light, that you can sense them arrive, that memory can be physical. By the end, the roles reverse: I imagine being the one picked up, forgiven, and gently reminded that it’s okay to keep moving—without letting go of the bond.

Lyrics
I’ll be there
To pick you up at seven in the morning
Don’t be late
I’ll sense you when you come
This is ludicrous to some
Because you’re gone
But I do not believe that we are done
So I’ll be there
To pick you up at seven in the morning
To greet the sun
And join you in the light
And even though you’re out of sight
I can see you when I close my eyes
You’ll be there
To pick me up at seven in the morning
To hold my hand
And tell me what I know
That you’ll forgive me if I go
My own way
And that we will meet again someday
